Summary

Thanks for the "Betty Blogger" opportunity. I think the most important thing I learned through this experience was the magnitude of applications the Internet possesses even though I realize I have only sampled a small portion. I found personal frustration with navigating through some of these sites the most challenging, including frequently having difficulty trying to view my blog. I felt the "self-directed" learning model fairly successful, although I think I will always be a fan of sitting in a room with an instructor available to assist you if you encounter a problem. I realize there were drop in times available for such assistance but I never took advantage of it. All in all I think the "Betty Blogger" experience fulfilled my expectations and if the program ran again I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

LibraryThing

http://www.librarything.com/catalog/cafazzoco

I thought Library thing was clever. It was neat to create a virtual book shelf with books that I have read with all the information I would ever need at my finger tips. I think I will use this application again.

GoogleReader

I subscribed to Disney kids. I discovered Google Reader is pretty eay to use although I don't forsee using it often.

Wikis

I will be bringing a Fruit Pizza to our family picnic. My Wikis experience was fairly easy but I was hesitant to try the teacher pet task for fear of messing up the entire page. It this point I don't have any need for a Wikis but at least I've seen it.

Photo Sharing

The "tags" that were assigned to the photo I sent were "Jamaica".
and "Dolphins". Picasa appears to be an interesting sight and when I have more time available I will definitely try creating some of my own albums.

Social Networking

Before I actually set up a Facebook account, I teased my husband about how much time he used to spend on Facebook. I'm happy to report that some of the novelty has worn off. I do find some of the features a little ridiculous, for example why would you want your Friends to know every time you write on your wall or make a comment? I was relieved when I discover how I could change many of these settings including levels of privacy. I put a lot of limits on access to my info because I dop have some privacy concerns with social networking. i will continue to use Facebook but in a limited capacity.
